After a 285-144 roll call vote on Wednesday night, the United States House of Representatives passed legislation to avoid a federal default and ended the 16-day partial government shutdown. In local news, these six parking spaces along the George Washington Parkway in Alexandria, Virginia are opened and back in business! Wait, is that a payphone?
